B Series Basic Specifications
We offer 4 different chassis our B-series buggies.

B-1: The most basic buggy. It is a 2-person, short wheelbase car.
B-2: This buggy has a slightly longer wheelbase. It’s main feature is a larger passenger area. It is wider in the seating area to accommodate larger seats and/or drivers. There is also a bumper built in to the top of the front frame rail.
B-3: This buggy is a 2+2 version of the B-1. The passenger area is 16″ longer to accept a “jump” seat, or used as a storage area.
B-4: This is a true 4 passenger buggy. This buggy has the longest wheelbase of the series allowing for 4 full-size passengers.
PU Variant: All four models can be equipped with a “rear deck” to give your buggy hauling capacity. The deck measures approximately 48″x50″.
All buggies come standard with the following:
Frame: 11/2″ mild steel tubing. Mig welded. Powder coated. Aluminum diamond plate floor.
Suspension: Volkswagen based torsion bar, trailing arm suspension. Boxed rear trailing arms with relocated and re-enforced shock mounts. New; ball joints, bushings, seals and shock absorbers.
Steering: Stock Volkswagen type steering box. New; tie-rods, tie-rod ends, and stabilizer.
Lights: 4 Forward facing lights. Two stop/tail lights. One back-up light. All operated by toggle switches with indicator lights.
Brakes: Standard: Drum brakes front, Disc brakes rear. We have found that 4-wheel disc to be too aggressive and cause steering problems on loose surfaces. Option 1: 4-wheel disc. Brake proportioning valve must be installed. Option 2: 4-wheel drum brakes. This is the least expensive set-up of the three. All brake systems contain all new parts.
Transaxle: Standard: Rebuilt type 1 transaxle. Includes new reverse gear, syncros, cv joints, boots and moly drive flanges. Options: Complete gear set changes, super-diff, race gears and many more. For those looking to upgrade to the 002 or 091 transaxles we can accommodate as well.
Wheels/Tires: White spoke, 15″ wheels. Rear tires-Cooper 31×10.5 m+s Discover ST. Front tires-Cooper7×15 m+s Courser Traction LT.
Engine: Standard: Fully rebuilt 1600cc air-cooled VW engine. NEW PARTS: Complete cylinder heads, forged Mahle piston/cylinder set, alternator, starter, carburetor, fuel pump, oil pump, Bosch 002 distributor, gaskets and seals. Options: Almost unlimited. We can build you an air-cooled VW capable of 350+HP.
