We have tooled up to repair and build VW engines and transaxles, as well as become a distributor for some great manufactures. If you don’t see what your looking for here please don’t hesitate to call. Many parts are in stock and ready for pick-up or shipping.
Stock rebuild of most transmissions
- If your looking for a fresh rebuild of your transaxle or looking for a completely rebuilt unit we have them in stock now.
Complete Rebuild – $450.00
- This covers the most basic rebuilds with a new reverse gear, syncro’s, and a fresh coat of primer and paint. Not a spray bomb.
Purchase A Transmission – $599.00 (and up)
- All Transaxles are built using Weddle Industries internals. Many options available for each trans including gear ratios, super-diffs and gear ratio’s and more. Call for your application.
Engines
VW Engines vary in price due to the wide range of options. bore, stroke, accessories and others. So your best bet is to call. Some are in stock or we can custom build to order. You can also see some of the available engines by clicking the “engine” menu option above.
Chassis
We are currently building three econo chassis. Each will be available as a roller or as turn-key buggies. Options are almost unlimited and the time to buy is now. Our Street Legal Buggy is almost ready for powder.
Floor Pans

Let Acme take the hard work out of your VW restoration. Bring us your car and we can remove your old rusty floor pans, or bulk-heads and install new, or repair them for you.
We are using fixtures on our chassis jig to locate the rear torsion and the front bulk-head so be assured your car will run straight. Caster is set to factory specifications or at the customers request can be changed.
Pricing is different for every job so we will give you an estimate before any repairs are done. This particular rebuild was done for a customer that wanted to lower his seat tracks as well.

Acme Car Co. Core Policy
When your core is received it will be torn down to check integrity.
The case being most important, followed by shafts, bearings, and gear sets.
Once your core is torn down we will notify you what usable parts are removed and you will be contacted about your core value based on our inspection. If you are displeased in any way with our assessment we will promptly send it back to you.
In order to receive the full core refund the case must be in good condition, the gear stacks usable, minus reverse gear. The drive flanges be in good condition as well as the input shaft free of pitting.
